A sterling silver shell slice — cast from a real shell found on the coast — set with three small aquamarine stones along its face, on an adjustable 14k gold filled chain. The pale blue of the aquamarine against the silver reads like tide pools in morning light. A piece that carries the ocean with it.

This collection started in college, when I learned you could cast from life. I cast shells and coral from the beaches of southern Maine, and now I've updated the collection with pieces found along the California coast. The ocean has always been a source of inspiration for me, and casting these pieces in silver is my way of holding onto that.

About Aquamarine
A variety of beryl — the same mineral family as emerald — aquamarine gets its color from trace amounts of iron within the crystal structure. The birthstone for March, it has long been associated with the sea, with clarity, and with calm, unhurried communication. Sailors once carried it for safe passage; today it's prized for its color as much as its history.
