Each boulder opal forms inside ironstone, which gives the stone its distinctive dark backdrop, making the color play more vivid and dramatic than you'd find in a regular opal.
About Boulder Opal
Boulder opal is a variety of opal that forms naturally within ironstone host rock from Queensland, Australia. Unlike other opals, the ironstone matrix stays attached to the stone, giving it a darker, more dramatic appearance and making each piece genuinely one of a kind. Opal has long been associated with inspiration, creativity, and a heightened sense of awareness, often described as a stone that amplifies whatever energy surrounds it.
The Story Behind the Collection
The Stone Love Collection is the result of twenty plus years spent sourcing beautiful stones — one of Amanda's first loves in jewelry making, and still one of her favorite parts of the process. Each piece in this collection is chosen for the stone first, then built around it, letting the gem's color and story lead the design.
