I get asked all the time at shows if you can shower and swim in jewelry. I know there is lots of jewelry out there being marketed as sweat proof and water proof. But the truth is not so simple.

I've seen a few too many videos lately claiming to educate people on how to buy jewelry based on the melt value. They claim that people are being ripped off if they are paying anything more than just above melt value.
When Ben and I starting planning our Japan trip I knew I wanted to see parts of Japan beyond Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, but it felt so hard to choose and narrow things down. We decided on adding in Kanazawa and Karuizawa. We were hoping to stop in Toyama too but we didn't have enough time. So we saved that for another trip.

I was encouraged from a young age to be curious about religion and spirituality. I always had so many questions for the priests and my Catholic school teachers. I started to learn more about Buddhism in the 8th grade.
Japan has been on my travel wish list since I was a little. I had two other trips planned that fell through when I was younger. I was so thrilled to finally go and to get to go with Ben to celebrate his 50th birthday! But since I have wanted to go to Japan for so long, my travel wish list was so much longer than what was possible to do in just one trip.

I put together a series of blog posts to share more from my trip to Japan and South Korea. Even though I spent 3 weeks travelling, it wasn't close to enough time to see everything I wanted to. I hope that the next time I can book a couple workshops or tours to see more away from the super busy tourist spots. Some of my favorite parts of the trip were when we wandered further away and found places without the big crowds and long lines.
My sister and brother-in-law moved to Incheon, South Korea, a little over a year ago. So when Ben and I were planning our Japan trip, we knew we had to add on a trip to visit. There is so much to see, eat, experience, and learn that we barely scratched the surface.
