This band started as a custom piece for a client's wedding, chosen for the ginkgo's meaning of endurance and longevity. I loved it enough to bring it into the shop for everyone after. Ginkgo leaves wrap around the band, simple and quiet, the kind of detail you notice slowly rather than all at once.
About Ginkgo Leaves
The ginkgo tree has figured prominently in Asian art for centuries — ancient Chinese artists often depicted the Buddha's Dragon Tree as a ginkgo. It's long been a symbol of longevity, since the tree can live for a thousand years, and of endurance: four ginkgos survived the bombing of Hiroshima and are still growing today.
The Story Behind the Collection
The Talisman Collection brings together symbols old and new — some borrowed from centuries of folklore and myth, others chosen simply because they hold meaning for Amanda.
