This ring is built around one of the most beautiful stones I've worked with. A golden sheen sapphire, also known as Zawadi sapphire, set in my Rhiannon design with three tiny champagne diamonds arranged like a little crown alongside it. Rhiannon is a Welsh name meaning "divine queen," and it felt like the right name for a setting built around a stone this special.
Zawadi is the Swahili word for gift, and this particular variety of sapphire is a rare one. Its warm golden sheen comes from natural inclusions of hematite and rutile inside the stone, which catch the light in a way that feels almost alive.
