New crystal necklaces are up in the shop!

The lapis and raw aquamarine styles are two I'm loving for summer.
To celebrate my birthday, I recently drove up the coast of California and visited Monterrey, Carmel by the Sea, Big Sur, and Morro Bay. I was so inspired by the conservation efforts in Monterrey and the stunning beauty of the coast! Since I donate a portion of all sales to different charities throughout the year this reminded me that I need to add an environmental charity back to the list.

I've donated to Surfrider in the past, but if you have a charity that you love, please let me know by emailing hello@amandaklockrow.com.
Since I was so inspired by our beautiful coastline, I wanted to share these earth-born crystal necklaces that remind me of the ocean. The aquamarine and lapis necklaces both remind me of beach days and playing in the water. I hope that they remind you or a loved one of the same!

Shop Spotlight:
Retreat Lifestyle in South Pasadena, CA.

South Pasadena is a part of this city that I had never really explored until Diane opened Retreat a little over a year ago. Diane and I are both from the same small town in Maine, and she was actually a librarian at my elementary school! Diane was also the buyer for years at one of my favorite stores back home called Abacus, and she took the experience and relationships with artists and designers she had gained working there, and opened up this great shop. She carries an assortment of unique and thoughtful gifts that are perfect for anyone on your shopping list, including guys and your pets. So if you happen to live in Pasadena, or - like me - just like a little citywide exploration - I highly recommend stopping in her shop. If you do stop in, please mention you saw her shop in my newsletter!

Oh, and a little bonus: there is an assortment of lovely delicious food, boba, and coffee shops next door and down the street.

Women's Equality Day is this month on August 26th. To commemorate this important day, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite yoga teachers on the westside of LA. I've tried many different studios and teachers over the years, and have two that I highly recommend if you're ever looking for a class to try.

Casey VanZandt
Casey teaches a Slow Flow Level 1-2 at YogaWorks on Main Street in Santa Monica, and her class is perfect if you are coming back from an injury, haven't done much yoga, or just feel intimidated by some of the faster-paced flow classes.

Kayla Strong
Kayla teaches a fantastic Veda 1 at Veda Yoga in Culver City. Her classes are incredibly inclusive, and she infuses a little yogic philosophy into the flow. She gives modifications and always reminds you to remember to focus on your breath and listen to your body.

If you check out their classes or these studios, I'd love to know what you think! Or if you have a recommendation for me to try, please let me know! I'm always up for discovering and trying new ways of connecting with the community and like-minded people!
