A hand-carved crab in sterling silver, set with a small garnet, on a delicate gold filled chain. The deep red of the garnet against the silver is warm and a little unexpected — the kind of detail that reads differently up close than from across the room.
Growing up on the coast of Maine, I spent hours in the tide pools, and crabs were always there — skittering sideways, tucked under rocks, impossible to catch. This one stays put.
Every piece in the Darya Collection starts in wax. I carved each charm by hand before casting it in silver, which means the texture and detail are mine from the start — not stamped, not manufactured.
About Garnet
Garnet is one of the oldest known gemstones, worn and traded across cultures for thousands of years. Most associated with the deep reds — though it occurs in nearly every color — garnet has long been considered a stone of warmth and devotion. It is the birthstone for January, and a fitting choice for anyone drawn to rich color and quiet depth.
The Story Behind the Collection
Darya is a Persian name meaning sea. Every piece in this collection starts in wax — hand carved, then cast in sterling silver. The charms are small by design. Tide pool small. The kind of thing you might find tucked in a crevice at low tide if you're paying attention.
Growing up on the coast of Maine, I spent a lot of time paying attention. Tide pools, rocky beaches, the particular quality of light on the water at different hours. The ocean has been my happy place for as long as I can remember, and this collection is the closest I know how to get to carrying it with me. Snorkeling, sea creatures, the textures of the shoreline — that's what these pieces are made from.
